Point Injection Therapy FAQs
What are Acu-point Injections?
Acu-Point Injection Therapy involves the injection of sterile solutions into traditional acupuncture points. Historically, the use of Chinese Herbs were used for this type of therapy to enhance the overall effectiveness of the acupuncture treatment. Today, with the difficulty of getting FDA- approved herbal injectables, we use mostly sterile FDA- approved homeopathic solutions like arnica, Trameel, Zeel, and others, including saline and B-12. The benefit of this therapy includes stronger stimulation to the acupoint with longer-lasting results of up to 48 hours as the solution gets absorbed.
When are Acu-point injections recommended?
Acu-point injections may be recommended any time there is unrelenting pain, whether it comes from a sprained ankle or a chronic neck ache. Since the injections are in acupuncture points, the treatment is long-lasting and very effective for pain reduction.
What are the benefits of B-12 shots?
We only use a bio-available form of B-12 for our acupoint injections. The benefits of bio-available B-12 injections include treating or preventing symptoms such as fatigue, heart problems, neurological damage, mood changes, muscle weakness, and hormone imbalances. Vitamin B-12 is only naturally found in animal proteins such as red meat, eggs, and dairy products. It can also be found in fortified foods and multivitamins. People who suffer from an inflammatory bowel disease usually suffer from B-12 deficiency due to the lack of absorption of the vitamin. We have found that B-12 injections can help to…
soothe nerve pain
reduce fatigue
help with thinking and memory
Are Acu-point injections covered by insurance?
Acu-point injections are not covered by insurance and would be paid as an out-of-pocket expense. Please ask your acupuncturist about payment options for this treatment.
